OUR KENWERKS TEAM
we fight like family and play like a team.
Kenneth Loo, founder of kenwerks, inc; began his career at Dolce & Gabbana in Milan. He has held key marketing positions at fashion, retail, and media mega-brands such as Ben Sherman, Blue Marlin, Sports Illustrated, Q Media and LASC. Most recently, Ken was West Coast Director of Turner Public Relations, directing major accounts such as K-Swiss, Howe and Australia Luxe Collective. Ken is known equally well for his fashion-forward savvy and his aggressive, unified approach to brand-building.
kenwerks exists to provide a solution for companies needing seasoned marketing expertise but lacking the workload or budget to employ an in-house director of marketing. kenwerks covers all the bases, from advertising to pr to promotions, working with the client's team to leverage its resources and execute big initiatives.
In the current economic climate, an outsourced director of marketing can leverage a company's marketing budget much more effectively than an employee with limited experience and a narrow job description. Since its inception, kenwerks has worked closely with both established and emerging brands.
Ken lives in between Los Angeles, New York and all parts in between with his Shiba Inu, aka The Fonz, who appears throughout our blog.
John Jones joined the team at Kenwerks as ourVice President in 2012. John joins us from MR Magazine where he served as Fashion Director for nearly eight years. Originally from Pennsylvania, John Jones moved to NYC to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (he’s currently the president of FIT’s Alumni Association), finally landing his first job at fashion retailing legend Charivari. He moved on to public relations, advertising and marketing positions both at agencies and in-house, working on such varied brands as J.G. Hook, Raffi Linea Uomo, Eileen West, the Italian Trade Commission, Architectural Digest and Dwell magazines.
“Working at MR was the equivalent of getting an MBA in menswear,” says Jones. “I felt privileged to have had insider access to industry leaders on both the retail and vendor side of the equation, writing about nearly all aspects of the industry from tailored clothing to accessories; luxury to mass market...not to mention the fun and chaos of producing the magazine’s photo shoots. I’m ready for a new challenge and am looking forward to starting the next chapter of my career at Kenwerks.”
