HOWE PARTNERS WITH KENWERKS
PARTNERSHIP RE-INTRODUCES MENSWEAR DESIGNER AND BRAND TO FASHION INDUSTRY
Los Angeles & New York; May 16, 2013—Today, Kenwerks proudly announces the representation of contemporary men’s fashion brand, Howe Clothing—the namesake of leading American designer Jade Howe—by serving as the brand’s official marketing and public relations firm. Kenwerks, which has offices in Los Angeles and New York, will handle brand positioning, marketing and public relations strategy for Howe’s growing presence in the North American market. Kenwerks will work closely with the sales and management team at Howe and their parent company, Seattle Pacific Industries.
Howe (http://howeclothing.com) is truly a modern American designer brand, committed to dressing a new guy: the creative workforce in its everyday transition from studio to sand. The label has achieved cult status in the last decade, epitomizing masculine, Southern Californian style. Howe incorporates elements of iconic punk surfer attitude with the decadence and carnality of rock and roll, a look long fetishized in modern fashion. Creative Director Jade Howe was the first to champion a look for men that captures the newly evolved 21st century sex appeal. He has redefined a working man’s uniform into a skinny jean, deconstructed tailored blazer and sophisticated woven shirt—a look assembled well before the mass-market adoption of those pieces. Howe Clothing's mission continues to be the creation of a designer collection made for a modern Renaissance man with a punk perspective featuring elegant, wearable, office to the bar pieces. Every season, Howe continues to create a world that guys want to be a part of and retailers everywhere are eager to adopt.
“The Howe brand is a lifestyle. Our guy is not just the famous: a successful musician, actor, producer or writer,” says Jade Howe, company founder, “but all the people who are associated with those guys that stretch across the creative industries and beyond. Both the company and I have been through a lot of growth in the past few seasons, and we’ve gained a lot of insight into our customer and the creative process. Now I know what my customer wants before he even wants it. We’re creating a focused collection for an aspirational, virile ideal that mirrors trends we are seeing in Europe and Japan. We are on the cusp of a new Howe and eager to develop this in a mass market conversation.”
“It is a personal honor to welcome back and work with one of my true heroes in the fashion industry, Jade Howe, and the amazing family at Howe. Their company has established a unique menswear niche in the marketplace, appealing to guys who want a wardrobe that leaps boundaries from career to casual, but with a sense of swagger and intoxication,” says Kenwerks owner Ken Loo. “As Howe devotees, we’re looking forward to helping the brand develop that demographic further, expanding its liberated appeal to both retailer and consumer audiences.”
